Overview
This Privacy Policy explains what information NightDraw uses, how it is stored, and what it never does with your data. NightDraw was built around a simple principle: your home's energy model belongs to you.
The Short Version
NightDraw does not require an account, connect to your utility company or smart meter, or collect, sell, or share your data with anyone, including us.
Everything you enter stays on your device. If you choose to enable iCloud, your data is also securely stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple's standard iCloud protections.
Information NightDraw Stores
NightDraw stores only the information you choose to enter, including:
- The rooms you create, including custom room names
- The energy items you add to each room
- Usage settings for each item, including quantity, hours per day, days per month, and whether the item is currently in use
- Your electric rate, if you choose to enter one, used only to estimate energy costs on your device
NightDraw does not require your name, email address, phone number, location, or any other personally identifiable information.
Where Your Data Is Stored
Your NightDraw data is stored locally on your device.
If you enable iCloud, NightDraw also stores an encrypted copy in your personal iCloud account so your data can sync across your Apple devices and be restored after reinstalling the app.
This synchronization occurs directly between your device and Apple's iCloud service. NightDraw does not use developer-operated servers, and the developer cannot access your data.
If iCloud is unavailable or you choose not to use it, NightDraw stores your information locally on your device.
What NightDraw Does Not Do
NightDraw does not:
- Connect to your utility company
- Connect to smart meters or energy providers
- Require an account or sign-in
- Track your location
- Collect personal information
- Sell or share your information with third parties
- Display advertisements
- Include advertising or tracking SDKs
Analytics and Crash Reporting
NightDraw does not include third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or user tracking.
If you enable Apple's optional Share With App Developers setting in iOS, Apple may provide anonymous diagnostic and crash information to help improve app stability. This information is managed by Apple, is optional, and is not used to identify you.
Other than Apple's optional diagnostics, NightDraw does not collect analytics, monitor how you use the app, or transmit your personal data for analytics or marketing purposes.
Children's Privacy
NightDraw is not directed toward children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Because the app does not require accounts or collect personal information, NightDraw does not knowingly collect personal data from users of any age.
Deleting Your Data
You can permanently delete all NightDraw data at any time by choosing Settings → Reset Home.
This removes your rooms, energy items, usage settings, and calculations from your device. If iCloud is enabled, NightDraw also removes the synced copy from your iCloud storage so it is no longer available to your other devices.
This action cannot be undone.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
If this Privacy Policy changes, the updated version will be published at this same location with a revised Last Updated date.
Any changes will reflect how NightDraw actually operates. We will never expand how your information is collected or used without updating this Privacy Policy.
